The community of Iberia is mourning the death of Ralph Edward Forbis, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach at the age of 84. Born on September 16, 1941, in Dixon, Ralph was the son of the late William “Bill” and Vivian (Beal) Forbis.
Ralph was known as a hardworking and dependable man who dedicated more than 30 years of his life to working for Allied Waste. Outside of work, he found happiness in the simple joys of life, including hunting, cutting wood, spending time outdoors, and making memories with his family and friends.
Family was very important to Ralph. He is survived by his daughters, Tina Russell (Joey) and Tammy Ash; grandchildren Gail Russell, Christina Yother, Darin Ash, and Mindie Haars; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will continue to cherish his memory.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marjorie Faye Forbis, sister Ruby Russell, grandson Tad Russell, and great-granddaughter Charlotte Russell. A graveside service celebrating his life will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Freedom Cemetery near Dixon. Memorial contributions may be made to Freedom Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
