The community of Port Dover, Ontario, Canada, is mourning the death of John, who passed away last Wednesday following a lengthy illness. His passing has left family, friends, and loved ones remembering a man known for his kindness, musical talent, and love for animals.
John was a gifted musician who shared his passion through singing, playing the piano, and performing on the guitar. Beyond his musical abilities, he was remembered as a kind and gentle soul who brought warmth to those around him. He also had a deep love for dogs and raised Canadian and American three-time champion Irish wolfhounds.
John’s life and friendship touched many people, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his long-term partner and soulmate, Kim Durrant, who stood by and supported him throughout their years together.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thompson Waters Funeral Home in Port Dover. His funeral service will take place on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, located at the corner of St. John’s Road and Highway 24.
