The community of Rayville, Missouri, is mourning the death of Katelynn Frances Liberty, who passed away on August 28, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 30 after a battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Her passing has brought deep sadness to her family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her.
Katelynn was born on September 18, 1995, in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Liberty North High School in 2014 before continuing her education at the University of Arkansas, where she earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering.
She built a successful professional career with Tallgrass Energy and was remembered as a dedicated individual who brought passion and commitment to her work and personal life.
Katelynn is survived by her husband, Brandon Liberty; her parents, Ray and Kimbra Downey; her sister, Lindsey Hodge; and her beloved dogs, Rhea, Hera, and Athena.
A celebration of Katelynn’s life will be held from 5–8 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Vantill Winery in Rayville, Missouri. Her memory will continue to live on through the love of her family and the many lives she touched.
