The community of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is mourning the passing of Albert Wayne Hopper, who died on August 28, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on April 11, 1944, in Pryor, Oklahoma, Wayne was remembered as a hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was centered around family, faith, and dedication.
Wayne spent much of his working life as a plant operator for Penurious-NGC while also pursuing his passion for farming. He took great pride in caring for his land, raising cattle, baling hay, and tending his garden. He enjoyed spending time outdoors through hunting and fishing, especially alongside his longtime fishing partner, Tom.
On February 28, 1970, Wayne married Tonda Hopper in Adair, Oklahoma, and together they shared more than 56 years of marriage. A devoted family man, he found great joy in time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His faith was also an important part of his life as a member of Greenbrier Free Will Baptist Church.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Tonda Hopper; sons Lang Hopper and Danny Hopper; siblings; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cleta Hopper, and great-grandson Owen Hopper. His memory will live on through the stories, values, and love he left with his family and everyone who knew him.
