The community of La Joya, Texas, is mourning the death of Aunesty Lorayne Garcia, a beloved 17-year-old whose courageous battle with cancer touched many lives. Aunesty passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, surrounded by her family after a three-year fight with the disease.

Aunesty was remembered for her strength, kindness, and the love she showed even during her most difficult moments. While facing treatments and the challenges of cancer, she continued to inspire others with her courage and compassion, including supporting another young cancer patient during his own battle.
